Got Front Turn Signal Light Recall Letter Yesterday

Received a letter yesterday from Winnebago about NHTSA Safety Recall 24V-733 Winnebago #189. There are several models and years listed on the letter.
They are stating the front turn signal lights are too small and could cause a crash. I’ll be notified again when they figure out what will be done about it. This could get interesting.

Has anyone found a VIN list for this recall? I have a 2014 Meridian that falls into the date range. I haven't gotten a letter yet, possibly because I am the third owner. I did register an ownership change notification with Winnebago, but who knows what list they may be using.

recall

Got my letter yesterday for my 2016 Forza ,I'm a second owner . Your Meridian is on the list , years 2013 -2017. There is no vin numbers listed , just years of models involved . Might call the number that was given . customer care 641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885 and make sure you are on the list .

Aaaaand my letter showed up today. Now let's see what they plan to do about it. FWIW the turn signals on my 2014 Meridian are from a 1998-2002 Firebird. I was planning on replacing the units sometime next year due to the slight crazing and clouding of the lenses. I guess I will hold off now and see what the great minds at Winnebago come up with.

So it sounds as if we all do nothing about it yet, besides being extra careful while taking turns. :

I’m pretty curious how they will increase the size of the existing lights on ours since they are dedicated round housings molded into a recess on the front end cap. There is room for some LED strips underneath the existing lights that would look fine. Hopefully that’s the fix on ours and not some obtrusive bulbous replacement lens.

EDIT: Kenney D, yes, that's pretty much what the letter says "No action is required at this time". There will be another mailing when the remedy is available.

I seriously doubt anyone would pay any more attention to those than they do the current turn signals. They already do a good job of ignoring the air horns.

I have a Sunstar LX 2018 and front turn signal light looks plenty big and bright to me.
I would like to see Winnebago's suggested fix.... only time will tell.

Oh dear, how I remember those days with my first car, a 1950 Ford. I wonder what todays new drivers would do without turn signals. Heck, they have on the left of the steering wheel and rarely use it.

I am going to be at the Forest City Factory Service Center on December 16, and they told me the recall would print out on the work order and get done along with my other repairs. I'll take some before pictures and after pictures and post on this thread.

Hey Decktape, see you also have a Forza and speaking about lights, are you satisfied with your headlights? I swear mine are really dim, at least they seem so to.

Lights seem fine to me . Don't drive at night to much ,but can see far enough to know what's ahead . Lens showed light hazing ,so I used a lens cleaner / polish to clear it .

2015 Vista Turn Signals - Before

Here's the before pictures on my 2015 Winnebago Vista Turn Signals. Will post after pictures next week after my service appointment. The 4th front light is a LED floodlight I added for off road use. The front turn signal lens has gotten cloudy at 10 years old but I live with it because a replacement is about $ 100.

Just finished my Winnebago Factory Service visit. The recall letter was marked PENDING which means that Winnebago is notifying owners but is not physically able to execute the recall yet. They said I'll get another letter when Winnebago is actually physically able to do the recall. So no "after" pictures.
