The slightly curved bar of metal that our engine compartment door should latch to has fallen down. Previous efforts to glue it in have failed to last. Anyone else with an older Class A have this problem? Ideas? Options?
Seems everyone with both old and new Winnebago Gas Class As have this problem.
Most glue it back on with stronger epoxy. I've seen some that drill two holes in both the plate on each side and in the "hood" and using a chrome flat headed bolt solve the problem once and for all.
Just be happy it didn't fall off on the road, never to be seen again.

Thanks! Will look into drilling a hole on each side.
I have seen this issue reported dozens of times. I always counted myself lucky to not have had the problem. Then 2-months ago I took my RV in for an oil change. When I picked up the RV they told me that when they went to open the hood they heard clang and both of the metal attachments were on the ground. They glued them on with something they said was super strong and would not fail. So, it happened to me but I didn't have to deal with it myself at all.
Lucky.

I'm one of those who chose to bypass the re-gluing as it had failed so why repeat the failure? I used SS flathead Phillips 6-32 screws and plastic insert SS lock nuts.
