From wanting a Cambria/Aspect to a Vista 26HE

Boy have things changed. Further review of the Cambria/Aspect ended when my wife stepped into the shower of a 27K. Just not enough room. Continued research of what we wanted in the smallest possible space led us to look at the Vista/Sunstar 26he model. My wife was not a fan of a class A rig, but she kept an open mind and it had what we wanted in a small package. The stars aligned when a couple from out of state had their Vista 26he in a local rv park a mile from our home. They had purchased a boat and were prepping it to live aboard while living in the Vista. I happened to spot it on Craigslist the same day it was posted. With a 5 min drive from the house, a test drive and mechanical inspector's opinion, the deal was done in days. We had driven many miles and hours looking at rigs all over and go figure, we found it in our backyard. Any informative posts on the 26 he is appreciated.

Hi Phil,
That sounds like a story with a happy ending! You will find many threads about the 26HE on this forum.
As described in its brochure, the 26HE has a very spacious bathroom layout, and should work out wonderfully for you two.
Welcome to the forum.

We bought our 26he new in September 2016. Only a couple initial minor issues with it. It's been a great problem free machine since. We have 38,000 miles on it now. Enjoy yours!

We bought a 2013 26HE and kept it for 5 years. It’s a great design, the weight gives you better mileage and plenty of torque, and it’s short enough to go about anywhere. I think you will really enjoy it!

I also have a 2013 26HE and like above, it has been a great machine. Had some minor issues in the beginning with the slideout and jack system. Knock on wood, all have been fixed and are working fine. Good luck!

Thanks folks for the confidence votes on the 26he. It was given a full alignment and shortly a compound / wax detailing. A couple of decal replacements and we are good to go.

I managed to get some of the OEM decals at a decent price. The ones that were too expensive or hard to find, I either removed the old and did not replace or had them reproduced at a vinyl shop for a decent price.

2013 26he decals

From what I have read, the 2 silver decals located on each side are the first to go and were removed from my rig by the previous owner in CA. Once the rig has been compounded and detailed, I will purchase the replacements and like you will have a graphics shop make new black ones as needed. Any tips are appreciated
