2016 Ford V-10 Misfire Issue
I have a 2016 Vista with the v 10. I have a very bad
misfire when below 2000 rpm, it shakes and shudders
until it gets above 2000 rpm then it smooths out completely
As if there is nothing wrong. Bad coil pack , bad injector
I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be. Any ideas
As to what it could be, I have about 12,000 miles on her.

Hi kc8kix,
If you have an check-engine light displaying on your dash, then drop-in to your local auto parts store for a free error code reading. I know for sure that O'Reilly does this. You might do this even if no check engine light is displayed, as perhaps the warning light itself is faulty. It really is odd to not throw a code with a misfire.
If you cannot get an error code, then I would replace the fuel filter.
Thanks, Eagle5

I agree on getting codes. If it says one bad cylinder firing that could be anything from what you mentioned to a cracked head gasket or block. CruiseAmerica sent me out in such a condition. If you are losing coolant--that would be the sign.

The code shows a faulty fuel injector on #4 cyl.
The question is why does it work at higher rpms.
And yes I am the original owner.

Codes often say that, when there can be a lot of reasons. Like, a vacuum leak...

I don’t mean to be cavalier, it’s just that these sensors often show a low oxygen flow, when it’s simply a vacuum leak, presenting a confusingly diagnostic.
Mine was the air flow sensor in the filter, nothing like a real low bank registery.

switch the coil pack to a different cylinder and see if it changes what the miss fire does

That is an excellent idea, but I would add to it. Move it more than one cylinder, preferably to the opposite side. That would rule out my worst case scenario of cracked block/blown head gasket (assuming the error code moves to that other cylinder). If you just swapped it to an adjacent cylinder and it switched to that one, you wouldn't rule the worst case out.
You might as well change out that plug while you're at it.

If you purchase a simple scanner for under $30 you could than see if the code changes to a different cylinder with the swapping of coil packs.

I've got an appointment with a dealer. I realised that its still under warranty for another
2 months. Get it in before the warranty runs out, and let them figure it out. Thanks anyway for all the help you've given me .

Hopefully, you’ll get it back in time to actually use it again. #hatethe19

Had a problem with the engine light. Turned out to be burnt valves on both heads. Warranty paid for labor and parts.

Typical COP coil on plug. Some are easy some are not. Just fixed mine---the easy one. Good luck

Burned valve
I hope there is a simpler answer to your problem , but I had a car do that once, turned out to be a burned valve, it smooths out because at higher Rpm the valve closes better.

I had a similar problem and found that a squirrel had chewed into the injector wire.
