What are you trying to improve? Steering? Sway/tilt? truck push/wind?

The Koni's won't help with any of that stuff - might improve the ride a small amount.

Steering Stabilizer - usually a first step. Helps improve steering and eliminate sawing on the wheel to keep going straight.

Sumo Springs - help with porpoising and some body tilting. makes the ride a small amount rougher. Good on uneven transitions.

Front and Rear Anti-sway bars - helps with wind, body control, uneven transitions. Doesn't hurt the ride quality

Rear Trackbar - helps with Wind and truck push also doesn't effect ride.

I have a larger heavier RV - I've done all but the Rear Trackbar. Everything helped a little. Nothing makes a dump truck chassis ride and drive like anything but a dump truck.

I sure appreciate the input.
I did the front steering stabilizer which did make a difference. I'm looking for improvement on uneven transitions. feels like its all over the place.
Also the sway could still use some improvement.
I'll take your advice and look into the anti-sway.
love the comment about a dump truck chassis.

If you're handy with tools, you might try what's call the CHF - cheap handling fix. That "stiffens" the existing sway bars. I agree that Sumos help with the ride, but sway is often best helped by the "bar" being upgraded or for free if you try the CHF and are happy with it. I did the CHF first and that certainly helped. Then Sumos and I think that helped a bit but I'm happy with the result on the Vista 29ve, similar in size to your rig with the same chassis.

All good points.
Broseguy, when you say “sway” do you mean the rocking back and forth going out of a driveway and leaning around a corner OR do you mean the “tail wagging the dog” type of sway when a big rig passes you (or heavy side wind) while driving straight down the highway?
The CHF and/or fat sway bars fix the first, while a rear track bar helps the latter.

Hi Everyone...just catching up on all the latest chat...congrats YGOHOM on the Sumo install...recall about a month ago I had rear sway bar, Konis and Sumos installed front and back. Although I have only put about 100 miles on her since I am totally convinced my ride is much much better. Had to postpone a trip to Yosemite because of the virus...really chomping at bit to get out. I installed the dimmer switch for main coach lights and it works well, also purchased tire covers as it has been sitting much longer than I planned.

Remember the electric problem? Everything is working really well since return from Giant RV...even with battery discharged almost to recharge required. So, that is solved.

Also solved my WiFi problem...I did sign up for ATT wireless internet as it is a 100 GB plan. Had a hell of time getting up and running...I got my 3rd modem Monday and it has been working great. To get it resolved I spent at least 8 hours on phone with supposed tech experts and installed 4 different SIM cards. I am very disappointed in ATT...they are terrible and most stems from them being too large and in too many businesses. No one knew where to transfer me for Wireless Internet. BTW, most of their support is in Manila and they speak very bad English. First two modems were refurbished and 3rd is brand new. Also, my Winegard Connect 2 connects to the new network and does amplify the signal. I am using a Netgear multi directional antenna and it really boosts the ATT Cell signal. I had purchased a weBoost but I returned it as $460 and don't think I will be traveling anywhere I would use it.

Happing travels...hopefully pretty soon. I am using RV Trip Wizard now for my next trip I hope to make mid August...taking Route 66 all the way to Michigan to see my Son and Grands! Will be able to add Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri to my US travel map! Think we may spend a couple days at Lake of the Ozarks too.

Best to all.

I appreciate the input.
I'd like to shore up both.
I will certainly try my hand at the CHF. The install of the road master anti-sway looks pretty simple as well, so I'll most likely do that too.
Thanks again!!

I caught a rock

Literally a rock was caught by my Intent. No I'm not that good of a catch. But the rock in the bottom of picture, was caught in the wiper after smashing the windshield. Yep some little ol car passed me with a tiny little trailer. Must have been hauling gravel.

Ok, that really sucks. So sorry you’re going to have to deal with that now. Looks bad enough that they’ll have to replace the entire windshield. I’d be curious to learn the cost of doing that.

Only upside is, you’ll be amazed at how clear a new windshield will be to see through. You’ll think you’re driving a brand new rig.

Ouch! X2 on the cost. We’re probably all fearful of that happening. I read a while back about wind noise/water leak from an improperly installed window, so be aware. Have them use plenty of sealant.

Oh gosh this is not what I wanted to deal with this week for sure. But so is life's surprises. This little guy with his small car and miniature (LOL) trailer I would not have thought this would happen.

My windshield has been a "rock magnet" for sure. Last falls travels to Arizona I picked up two hits, that I had repaired.

However this Progressive Ins. bill will be a bit larger for them. (And surely they will pass it on to me with increased premiums.) I have do deductible, so I shouldn't have to take the bump on that.

I am fortunate that a good friend of mine in the Auto Glass business, specializes in RV windshield replacements. He travels through many counties here in Wisconsin servicing RV's. Am told, that most auto glass replacement companies, don't touch RV's...

Progressive did have a company that does their RV glass replacement... Yeah.... But it was in two states away, as in Elkhart Indiana! LOL...

So yes, I will keep u all informed as to how this process goes. My buddy said the window is on its way here. So maybe just days or week or so to get it done and scheduled.

Your antenna booster switch is off, the cable coming into your rig is secure with a good connection, assuming those are true, can you try a new cable to the RV? I’d start there, and work my way through. Next stop would probably be where the cable comes into the booster switch. The, there they splitter, are all connections tight? Did you try multiple tv’s?

I’d also like to try and hook up to the campsite post in the site next to you, probably first, just to make sure that they’re right about your post’s signal.

Have you ever experienced this issue before? If not, a loose post connection or damaged cable might be the culprit.

I THINK, you have a 26m, as I recall way back in old posts. Correct? If so, the splitter is located under the lower second drawer in the bedroom, way down near the pump house cabinet.

If all else fails, for now, turn in the radio and make a fire outside...

Interesting timing about tv signals.

But first, yes BROAD ST has a 26m. I’m with you, Wyatt, that it’s most likely an outside source. It’s unlikely that the connections at the splitter have come loose if everything was fine the last time out.

The splitter on mine is very accessible in the water pump bay. No need to remove a drawer. I remember someone recently removed the wall panel to get to it. Are all of our rigs really put together that differently?

Anyway, a while back you guys installed signal boosters. I added one this afternoon. It didn’t pick up any more channels, but the picture seems better. I really just want to fight the static/pixelation that turning on a ceiling fan causes.

Yeah, that was me. In my 26m Intent (late model I guess), the splitter was visible from the pump house lower storage area, but more easily accessible from the lower drawer in the bedroom.

Actually, the best advantage I had at it, when I added the power splitter, was by opening up the right side of the outdoor kitchen.

I’ve seen this over and over again, we all have the same RV, but they weren’t necessarily all built the same way...

All good comments. I can't add much except there is a connect behind the cable input plug that one can reach with his hand. You may want to check that for tightness. I've found the Winnie boys did good job on tightening the coax's. I needed a wrench to remove any. But doesn't hurt to check. BTW I haven't tried my Cable Input yet as haven't yet been at a campground that had cable yet.

I know most of you have the 26M. I have the '18 30R. My issue is with the cooktop. I have propane on and the flow of gas at the cooktop is barely enough to keep it lit. We have very little flame on HI. The hot water heater works as normal. The stove worked properly last time out. I did remove the regulator on both bottles to added 2 more bottles to the back. I put the regulator back on the bottles it came off of. I am guessing its the regulator. Anyway to test to see if its the culprit? If it is, any recommendations on a new one?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

Propane regulator

We had a tough time getting consistent flow, so I replaced the regulator and it’s never been better. The new regulator doesn’t fit the stock hoses, of course!🤬. So I bought longer ones that loop perfectly and easily reach the rear bottles.

Hi Scott,

I’m including some excerpts from the owner’s manual. When you said you added two more tanks, it brought to mind the admonition to make sure the regulator is facing in the right direction.

Also, about moisture or air in your propane tanks. Do you always close them when not in use?
