I just bolted my plate/frame directly to the grille mesh. No bracket needed.

I really want to use the factory supplied bracket if possible. That grill is definitely big enough for a plate for sure though

So I'm wanting to add some mounts for tablets and phones and such on the dash, but I hate the idea of drilling or gluing or marking up any of the surfaces. I suddenly realized on my drive into work this morning, that I should just copy the design of the passenger work surface. So I'm gonna buy a bunch of l brackets, cut them down on one side to just a lip, and mount, screw, glue the heck out of those as base plates for my mounts. Gonna stock up on these babies this weekend and start to attach mounts to them. I'll probably cover the bottoms that sit on the dash with a felt patch (got a bunch of that for furntiure legs). That way I can use bolts and screws into the bottom of the different mounts and cover the bolts with those pieces of felt. I'm excited about this potential solution!

It would be wise to measure what length of screws or bolts you will need. Measure the thickness of the bracket and add to that the thickness of the material (metal, fiberglass, or plastic) of what you want to fasten the bracket to. In the case of bolts, add another 1/2" to accommodate washers and nuts. Actually, add a half inch to the screws too, if you go that route, to ensure the threads get the best possible "bite". I'd get stainless steel fasteners because they will be in an often wet and corrosive environment. (I used to work in the hardware department of a couple Home Depots and this is a somewhat common customer "project".

That's a great tip! Thanks very much!

Here's the lower mounting bracket for the center dash pod. It's only 18 gauge (.048") sheet metal. No wonder that thing bounces all over.

The next picture is what I'm hoping will make things nice and sturdy. A little angle in 3/16" and 1/8". I'll thru bolt it to the dash instead of the self tapping sheet metal screws.

Fingers crossed!

Wanna weld? Just do it! I have a few friends who have welders from Harbor Freight and they love 'em. For as little as $115, you could be welding today.

I had a great sleep with my new mattress. Although, never as nice as my select comfort bed at home

I think I might be like three providers deep for RA...haven't used any yet though. My insurance company has it, and so does my extended warranty coverage it's with Coach Net...finally, I think all Winnie's have like a year with the purchase a way part of the deal. You got trouble?

Yep. I have it. At about 7% of the purchase price, I thought it was good risk. Got the 5 yr plan.

More welding! New bumper is finished.
I welded 2 receivers to the outside of the existing hitch for attaching and then 2 additional receivers vertically behind the bumper...one for the spare tire and the other for a surfboard rack. The last picture keeps everything solid and rattle-free.
