Entertainment Center - Sunstar 27PE

I decided to add a head unit and speakers to the open corner shelves above the table in my 2020 Sunstar. I used 1x8 common board from Home Depot for the two panels. After a trial fit earlier today I sanded them down and they are now ready for staining.

I'll post pictures of the upgrade as it unfolds.

Finished staining. Final fit check before installation of radio/speakers/etc. Have also started fabrication of the center section. That one is going to be a little trickier.

The rounded edges on the vertical end boards are a great idea. It also looks like you chambered the horizontal edges too. Great craftsmanship.
On my 22M slide-out, the bottom edge of the overhead trim board is very sharp. I have added a foam corner to the edge after I cut my head on it.

Wish I could take credit, but the only components I have made are the two faceplates (with the cutouts).

Now, if you really want to put your speakers to test, listen to Intergalactica (Beasty Boys) to check the bass and Flamethrower (J Geils Band) for highs and mid-range.

On a more serious note.........looks nice.

Finished installation of right hand panel and tested out the speakers/head unit. I was taken completely by surprise with the depth and richness of the sound from the two top speakers. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the fact that they are essentially in a speaker box with a vent (which I put there to prevent overheating). I have identical speakers in the cab and they don't sound anywhere near as good.

The head unit is the Pioneer AVH-210EX I removed from the cab centre stack (and replaced with an AirPlay unit). It has a dvd player which I will hook into the tv (as a backup).

The amplifier in the left panel powers the two under-mounted speakers that will be connected to the tv.

Given how well everything has turned out so far I am rethinking what I will fabricate to be the centre stack. I was going to add more speakers, but don't believe that is necessary anymore.

Power supplies installed & wire management complete.

Watching a dvd while planning what to do with the centre panel. The tv is a smaller replacement for the one installed by Winnebago. It is 4k and smart. I have modified the wall mount so that the tv no longer sits up so high and at an angle. In the picture below it is not in its final position (will be moved up about ten inches).

That really came-out slick! I like it.
So often, I only listen to shows. Maybe all you really needed was the small screen? Ha-ha. Of course I know, you will need the nice big TV to watch your Movies for the Motorhome.

Not a bad list. The one playing on the Pioneer was "Colossus: The Forbin Project". Came out in 1970 I think. I've always liked it.

I remember watching Colossus down at the Long Beach, Washington theater. It is interesting as it seems to be a forerunner of the War Games movie. It is also reminiscent of 1984 and the surveillance state. Could this movie be the reason why I refuse to use a smart phone?
