Engine options for a 2006 Meridian 36

I hope someone can help clear-up my confusion on the engine applications for a 2006 Itasca Meridian 36. I am currently looking at this unit on the internet, and one of the pictures show a decal with 300 HP. As i have researched the Winnebago site, the brochure for that year shows the 300 is used in the 32 and 34 models and the Cat 350 is used on the 36 and 39.
I welcome all input. Thanks in advance.

Call freightliner with the vin and they can tell you what engine is in it. Maybe a early 2006 with a 2005 chassis??? Maybe just a decal mis-application??

The Itasca line generally was a bit of an upgrade from the same coach with the Winnebago badge. I would be sure that the 36' Itasca DP would have the 350 CAT (in that era).

If you can secure the last 6 digits of the coach serial #, you can go to the Winnebago/Itasca website and get that info. Or with that number you can call Winnebago and they will confirm.

If it's 300hp it must be a 32' model with the Cummins 5.9. All other models of the 2005 and 2006 had the Cat 7.2. You can check the Winnebago archives for the 2006 brochure.

Yes Sir,
The 36' units came with the CAT, C-7 350HP engine. The 32' units came with the Cummins 300HP version. CAT did make the 7.2L C-7 in all three versions, the 300HP, the 330HP and the 350HP but, not in that era application.

Our coach, is an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT. The larger Cummins, the 400HP version came, as an option, in the '04 era but, only in the 40' coaches. Hope some of this info helps some.
Scott

The 2006 and 2007 Meridians 36g were also built as "SG" models. They had the 300hp 5.9L Cummins. They came with a simpler full body paint scheme, wheel covers in lieu of aluminum wheels, but most of the other normal Meridian amenities.

I had one. Great coach. Great price.

Yup, those were the Meridian SE models (also the Journey SE ones). The only separate brochures/docs I've seen for them is the Operator's Manual.
