Does this RV make me look fat?
My wife and I are full timing in our Itasca Suncruiser 37B and have been for two months. I have been unable, so far, to weigh the MH to really know where I am at. I will do that within the next month but till then, my concern is with all the "stuff" "we" had to take with us. I am concerned that we are overweight but have no way to know at this time. We also tow a 2007 Jeep Liberty 4 down.
Here is my question... How much weight do you think can be added to a 2005 Itasca Suncruiser in personnel belongs?
Thanks

The next time you refuel at a truck stop, use their scales to weigh our MH. Only costs $7-15.00. Eddie Elk.

The CCC (cargo carrying capacity) should be on a sticker in a closet or cabinet somewhere. If it is gone you call call Winnebago customer service with your VIN and they can cross it to your Winnebago ID number and tell what the CCC is.
Many full timers have found that they need at least 1500 pounds per adult in CCC. We have 2800 pounds and would like to have 3500.

In the PNW most grain elevators will sell you a weigh ticket and/or a free weigh if you don't need the cert.

Well... I dug out the Winnebago Motor Home Weight Information sheet (Forgot I had it). The CCC is 877 lbs.
The SCWR is 770
Now, I took out the 3 heavy TV's so I may have gained 200 lbs of available weight. Thoughts? Also, where do I find the towed vehicle tongue weight

That is indeed a very low CCC especially for full timing. Two adults and half a tank of fresh water will eat up half of that right up front. Our 38 foot Thor has a CCC of 3,200 pounds and we are using every last ounce of that.

Back in 2005 they still used CCC instead of the newer OCCC so you can subtract the weight they allow for the passengers you are not carrying (150 pounds per passenger).
At that time I think Winnebago used the number of seat belts as the number of passengers. So if you have four seat belts and there are only two of you, you could add 300 pounds to your CCC - unless of course you and your wife weight more than 150 pounds each.
I really think that you will be way overloaded since you are full timing. It is amazing how much weight you add.
My under slide compartment (three doors one compartment) is limited to 300 pounds and I weighed what I put into it. I ht 300 pounds much faster than I expected.
As I said above 1500 pounds per person is what a lot of folks require with 1000 pounds per person a minimum for most.

As I understand it, tongue weight is just the downward force on the hitch. In the case of a towed vehicle, the tongue weight is just the weight of the tow bar which will be maybe 20 pounds. My box trailer has a tongue weight of 300 pounds which I measured with a simple scale.
Somehow, I don't think that this is your real question.
I had my Jeep weighed at an RV rally and was a little surprised to find out just how much it really weighed.

We had a 37B-W22 which we loved. We crossed the USA 5 times plus 5 Cape Cod to FL trips about 65K miles. We traveled with 1/3 water and plenty of stuff and were never over weight. We had the W/D and three of us with a 100lb GSD.
Weight it and you'll have peace of mind. We towed a Colorado Crew 4x4 which weighed 4200lb. For 65K miles we averaged 6.8 mpg.

Large farm and garden supply providers will have scales. Several public scales are usually available any places. Try yellow pages / web search for public scales
