clunk retracting bedroom slide

The last 4-6 inches while retracting gives a distinct bang. Found the 1x3 support under the paneling beneath the bed crashing into a bolt/nut in the mechanics. Possibly too much too heavy stuff under the bed? Took everything out and still some clunk. Will try to cut down that bolt and maybe fab a skid plate? It never ends, does it? No sweat, just another 'opportunity' !!

Aww, I had a similar but different problem. Mine was a bent hex support tube for the awning.

slide clunk

Thanks for the input. After I revamped the material supporting the floor of the storage space, I still have a clunk. Will check the topper outside of this slide.

Found my clunk. This slide has an awning topper. When retracting, the fabric awning is wound onto the metal tube just fine. But when it comes time to wind the sections of metal cover onto the tube, the metal mostly 'bangs' into the roller before it starts rolling around it. Don't see any adjustment that might eliminate that. Rats!
