check engine light

I have a 2016 Tour with 27k miles. The engine light is on and I cannot find any obvious reason. Any suggestions?

Call Cumins or Freightliner. They will tell you how to read the code using the LCBU then interpolate it for you. I had that happen in my 2008 Winni and it was the EGR. I pulled into a Cummins shop in Montana and they hooked up their computer and said there was one hit and most likely due to altitude change. The cleared it and it was okay for a few weeks. Next time it came on several weeks later they replaced it - under warranty.

Not saying that is what it is, so call them.

I had a similar problem once. It turned out that my radiator overflow tank was low. Added a gallon of water and all was well again.

The call to Cummins is a great suggestion. They are great at getting us back on the road if they can.

I have a ScanGauge 2, and I used it to check the error codes. Usually, it was from using low grade gasoline (cylinder misfire). I cleared it myself, and it only came back again when I used low grade gas again. I HIGHLY recommend getting a ScanGauge 2 or similiar OBDII tool.
