Can’t get above 65

Still getting used to our recently acquired 99’ Ultimate Advantage - Freightliner with a CAT 335. Allison transmission.

On the way home from a trip today, I couldn’t get the coach over 65mph.

Accelerates fine. A lot of power below 1500rpm.

Around 60mph in 6th gear I can feel a shake. If it downshifts into 5th and goes to 2000rpm, it’ll lose speed.

Stopped at a gas station for about 10 minutes, and it seemed to gain some more power for a while but lost it again after a while.

Thoughts? Could exhaust brake be restricting flow? Exhaust brake works when I have it on.

No warning lights on the dash.

Thanks JR. Any tips on the best approach? Do I need to install an in-line analog gauge?

Just finished fixing my 2004 cat 330 in a Journey, Had a vibration at 15-1700 rpm. Down on power, Had algae in the fuel, Replaced injectors after Killem fuel treatment and several fuel filter changes. Running Great Now.

Replacing the fuel filters might do the trick. Lower fuel pressure might be caused by plugged filters.

If you change filters and Still have shake or vibration along with low power check injectors, I had 2 bad injectors, but decided to change all since I had algae issues as well from coach sitting a long time before I got it. Yes sunny south humid FL.
