Brave/Tribute Owners

I was just reading the June issue of FMC magazine feature on the 2015 Tribute model 26A. Was very surprised to see that the writer stated that "It's 80-galllon gas tank provides a driving range of slightly less than 1,000 miles." That suggest that the avg. is north of 10 miles mpg.

I have little over 5K miles on my Brave 27B and I've only gotten 7 mpg when not towing. When I tow, my mpg is in the low 6s. No mountain travel on my part. Purchased in AZ, brought it home to SC and then to Florida. Is it my driving, my motor or is the article exaggerating ? I'd be curious to know what other Brave/Tribute owner are getting with their new rigs.

Asking folks their MPG is about the same as asking a fisherman how big his catch was. How fast do you drive? Use cruise control? With the aerodynamics of a wall, your speed has a huge influence on mileage.

The sriter must be smoking something really good to expect 10mpg or more from a gas RV.
Our 28B is staying below 7mpg no matter how we drive (60 or 70mph) - towing a Samurai or not.

With less than 1,700 miles on the odometer, 7.8 mpg. No toad. Hopefully as the engine breaks in mileage might creep a bit higher. I am very soft with the foot and try to run at 1,800 RPM flat, 2,200 RPM on small inclines and 2,800 RPM on good size hills. The unit does have some giddy-up!

Bob, I agree about all of the variables that contribute to good mpg. I know properly inflated tires also plays a role. However, my calculations without the tow vehicle was a 500 plus mile trip to central Fla. I tried everything including coasting at every opportunity.

I would like to drive by using a fairly constant RPM but I would get run over by the semi trucks. My transmission downshifts at every opportunity, except at around 45mph. Little grade, one gear downshift. Little bigger grade a two gear downshift, and that's with cruise on.

Now that diesel is the same price as gasoline, I'm thinking I may have sold my Diesel Pusher a little too cheaply.

I read the article online and got my printed copy today. You can expect 6-8, which is where we are, based on driving conditions.

About to get the lightest Class Winnebago has the Brave 26A I had a 2007 35J getting about the mileage reported here. i am anxious to see what the mileage in the on will be. Less weight should, theoretically give better mileage, but that blunt front end.

I'll find out soon.

Our 27B is getting about 6.2-6.8 mpg. The front end is a brick in the wind. Driving style makes little difference - neither does our toad.
The 26A is lighter. Ut I doubt you will see a major difference to anything else.

Agree. We have the 26A. We are seeing an average of 6.5 to 7.0. We don't use cruise control and keep our speed average around 60, but frankly with the light weight and the V10 you have to be careful because she will flat out run if you are not careful. I think it's basically same milage because of the same motor. There is no strain at all on the V10 with the 26A, it just requires that much gas.

Getting it to have fun.

Exchange I had at a gas station once while filling my other motorhome.

Man: "I'd hate paying to fill that motorhome"

Me: "I'd hate sleeping in your Toyota".

We both laughed.
