Brake controller

I have a 2016 Adventurer 37F (F53) and I am going to start pulling a Landgrebe tandem tow dolly. So I need to get a brake controller. Just wanted to see if anyone has one they really like or one they really hate. Do any of them plug directly into the factory harness or do they all need an adapter? Just any info that might be helpful is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

scottybee-

The Tekonsha P3 is a popular choice. Here are links to it and an F-53 adapter:

The adapter should plug directly into the Ford wiring and the P3. No splicing should be necessary.

To find the connector under the dash, see Ford TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) Q-206 at this iRV2 post.
