Backup camera replacement

Last summer my backup cam became a fuzzy blob on the screen. I happened to be in Forest City, so I went by the Winnebago parts center, and they told me that based on my serial number I had a Megadyne C125 camera that had been superseded by the newer C128.

Couple of weeks ago I finally got on this and ordered the replacement from RVCams.com, and they filled the order quickly. When the new camera arrived, I pulled out the old camera and discovered two things: 1) the camera was in reality a Riverpark Convoy C1000M, and 2) the C128 in my hand needed a 5-wire cable, while the C1000M uses a 4-wire cable.
RVCams did a hot swap for me, and the new camera arrived two days later. Everything line up correctly. Problem solved.

Because I still have a bit of engineer in me, I disassembled the failed unit to see what part was the bad actor. There were no signs of water intrusion, although the assemble in China left a silica packet in the frame. No signs of power failure until I got the camera/printed circuit board out, and found the camera controller board had shorted at one of the transistors.

Hi Winston,
Very interesting. Great confirmation that RVCams.com worked well for you.
