Knowing how to turn it on is always a good thing to check, as well as knowing if it requires the engine running and in reverse! Some manual checking required here! Do we get lights? What else does it do? what's it supposed to do? Not everything is going to be like we expect to find, so some slow methodical checking is needed.

Last stop is getting out the drawings and meter to start at some point and trace it for power. Always possible the former owner just didn't like it and disconnected something!
