Anybody replace lounge TV in 2016 Journey?

The LG television in our '16 Journey has got lines and needs replacing. Winnebago in its infinite wisdom fabricated the mounting plate in house and has port cutouts specific to a no longer available LG model. I did contact Winnebago and learned that for '17 they did a mod for mounting a Samsung. The mod parts are available from Winnebago at a reasonable price but requires extensive work on the heavy steel backing plate.

I'm on the road and don't have access to my workshop. So, I'm looking at a workaround. I can mount a flush mount wall bracket to the existing backing plate using two of the 400 x 400 mm holes and drill to new ones. The new wall mount will give me about 1.5" of space for cords. The wall bracket has positive locking for earth quakes so road vibrations are not a problem.

Anybody else had to do replace a TV on Winnebago's proprietary fabricated swing out arm or similar application?

Not exactly what you inquired about, but I found our bedroom TV was bolted to a custom plate and mounted in such away that is was a major problem removing it. You had to unbolt a number of hidden fasteners just to get to the back of the TV to access the connectors. So I mounted a standard TV mount from Best Buy directly to the WBGO plate and now that Tv is easily removable and accessible.

I found a large space behind my TV too, but it’s blocked by this huge metal plate. If they had mounted the TV on a swing out door or TV Mount like any other manufacturer would have it would have it would have made so much more sense.

Sometimes WBGO just has to make a part in house rather than using standard available solutions. It’s nuts!

Update on 2016 Journey lounge TV replacement

Wanted to update this thread for any future searches. After talking to Winnebago, their only solution was replacing the very expensive backing plate. Instead, I spent some time scratching my head to look for an easier and less expensive fix. I purchased a fixed flush wall mount on Amazon for $25. It had 1.2" of spacing for running cables. I drilled new holes on the existing Winnebago plate and mounted the wall mount to it. I purchased an LG TV at Best Buy with ports on the left side. Only wiring change was to switch power cords. Had to mod the new wall mount by adding two set screws to keep the TV from sliding side to side. Also had to extend mod bump stops between cabinet and TV. With the addition wall mount bracket the TV sticks out and additional 1.2". It was a cheap fix considering my other options.
