Tinkered with a couple projects while I’m temporarily grounded by some health issues. I’ll be fine but I’m not sure the Rolling Ranch will survive it though.
Installed a couple fans above the windshield and a charging station to replace the conglomeration of plugs and adaptors that I had been using. The fans are awesome and I’m happy with the chargers too (so far anyways, passing the driveway tests at least). Not bad for an amateur I suppose. I also managed to source a lighted SPST horn switch for the air horns, I had been using an unmarked switch. I like to disable them when we’re in towns (when I remember it).
As things always go, I discovered two repairs that I need to make during the process though. One is regluing the hood bracket on the passenger side, loose and wobbling. Wbgo tech support recommends automotive body panel adhesive so I’m going to give that a whirl before taking drastic measures. 3M tech support recommended the proper adhesive and applicator tool which I now have in hand, and I watched all the videos so I guess that makes me a YouTube expert.
And then I discovered the dash heat mixer valve body is leaking antifreeze out the valve stem. I can find replacement actuators on-line, but so far haven’t found just the valve body. Hopefully I won’t have to buy the whole assembly but may need to. Have to make some phone calls.
Glad to have discovered these things now instead of on the road. Can’t complain though, over 32K miles with no troubles, we can handle this.
