30A vs 50A on my 2004 Adventurer

If I only have 30A service will all my appliances and air run?

You have not given enough information for any answers.

When both your AC compressor are running you will be pulling around 26 amps which does not leave a lot but is workable. If you start the microwave the load center will drop the second AC compressor. Also keep the reefer and hot water tank on gas.

Yes....but not all at the same time.

Not all RVs have an load center which automatically manages the AC use for us.
(Many of us have to do that ourselves).

Agreed.

For OP if you understand how the 30A vs 50A works, let me give a quick explanation.

30A: one leg 120v with 30 amps = 3600 watts available power
50A: two legs 120v each with 50 amps = 12000 watts available power

So while it might seem 30A service is just 60% of 50A, the reality is you have slightly over 1/4 of the real available power. Two A/C's take a lot of power and not much left for other stuff.

When you put a 30A-50A adapter, the 30A service of one leg is split into the two legs on the 50A. So you end up with both legs of the 50A having 120v, but you can only use up to the max 30A (3600 watts) available power.

Keep in mind, the maximum available capacity from an RV 30A service is 30A, but an RV 50A service is with two 50A legs, thus for 110V appliances you actually get the benefit of 100A capacity.

Typically on 30A, the microwave and AC cannot run together. If you have electric water heat, go to propane. Go to propane on the fridge, and you should be able to do what you like to do on 50A if you just think ahead before turning it all on at once.

Your coach has an energy management system. It controls which appliances and systems will be allowed to run when you near the maximum current draw.

If you look at the OnePlace monitor panel you'll see a digital display of how much current you are using. You'll also see a series of LED's with appliance names next to them. When the LED's are on the energy management system will power those appliances. When they are off the management system has shed those appliances to allow higher priority systems to use the power.

An example might be that both air conditioning compressors are needed to maintain the temperature selected on the thermostat. When both are running the energy consumption is in the neighborhood of 24 amps. The electric water heater will be "shed" (not allowed to run) until the temperature is lowered to the point that only 1 compressor needs to run.

The same may be apply when other appliances and or systems are used. There's a brief explanation of how the system works in section 6 of the owners manual. There is also a separate Powerline Energy Management System owners guide in the briefcase of information supplied to the original owner.
Here's a link to the online 2004 Adventurer operators manual:

You may have to call or e mail Winnebago industries for a copy of the Energy Management System owners guide:

OP if your MH has typical Winnebago One Space Center with Powerline EMS then it will load share and cut out things as necessary to keep you going, within reason.
I have had this system on a 2003 Suncruiser and it worked well.
Unless you are trying to overload the system such as AC set to 60, running the microwave, hot water heater just turned on to electric, fridge just put on electric and plugging in and using a hair dryer. You should be OK.
If you are trying to do all that at once, good luck.
It may be possible to convert the system to 50amps but I get a qualified RV electrician to do it.

Our 2004 Adventurer with 30 amp has basement air and this past week we ran the ac the microwave and water heater all at the same time with no problems. Pretty new to the motorhome thing so I'm still learning.

More-Gas, more than likely only your #1 compressor was running. One of the nice things about the basement AC system is only the #1 compressor runs until the demand become greater than it can handle then the #2 compressor kicks in.
