2022 Adventurer 36Z

Hi All:

Potentially moving over from the Crossroads forum to this one - yay!

We have camped in a Crossroads Sunset Trail 253RB for the last six years putting on 30K miles with our longest trip out west to Yellowstone that lasted three weeks.

We're joining the mass resignation this June and want to spend a year on the road chasing the sun before ending up planted somewhere in the southwest.

We want to do this in a Class A. We had been concerned about length and were looking at shorter models. After test drives and checking out a several models, we now are more concerned about space and livability.

Amazing how that tiny little Sunset Trail has better features, much better bath, and better storage than many larger Class A's.

We fell in love with the features and styling of the Adventurer 36Z and have a chance to close on a 2022 version.

We do like new vs. new to us.

My wife tells me advice is what you ask for when you already now what you are going to do, but still wanted to check in to:

1) Introduce myself

2) See if anyone has had any real world experiences in this RV they would like to share

3) See what % discount you might have received off of MSRP

Thanks heaps and safe travels!

Scott and Phyllis

Congrats Scott!

I can't comment on your specific coach - I have an Adventurer but it's pretty different in every way to yours. We got ours new 5-years ago and have put 42,000 miles on it since then. We love it.

As to discount - the market has changed so much it's hard to say. Before Covid you could expect 25% to 33% off of MSRP. In 2017 we got 31% off of MSRP on ours. Maybe someone with a more recent purchase will chime in here.

Only one word of advice I'd give you, get the Ford VIN number of your chassis and check it for recalls. Early models of the new V8 F53 Chassis had problems with differentials and spark plugs and there was a shortage of parts to get them fixed. Some new owners waited months and months to actually get their coach on the road.

Scotty:
We have a 2022 35f and we love it. We just bought it on Jan 15th, so it's still new. We have an appointment on 2/28 for some initial warranty work. Several minor issues and removal of a scratch above drivers window that was there when we took delivery.

We were able to get a little more than 30% off of retail.

Hope this helps!

Sounds like a great plan for your retirement, I mean resignation. :-) Like CreativePart, we’ve also had an Adventurer since 2017 and love it. While we’ve had our issues, it’s been very comfortable and a great RV to travel in. Enjoy!

Love the maneuverability of my coaches wheel base compared to what I gave up in storage. As far as discounts in this Hot market, it’s less than it was a few yrs ago. Call and cross ref Schaefer RV in Delta, Ohio. They had the best prices in the country when we purchased ours new. No frills, haggle or tactics, also a Diamond Winnebago dealer.

Right! They’re great! If buying houses and vehicles could all be that easy. Talk about No B.S, No gimmick, straight shooting good folks. Mr Schaefer was mine. I pulled out of their Lot in July and have been on the road ever since.
