2020 Horizon Tank Sensors

Speaking of tanks...

I just picked up my 2020 Horizon and this is a photo of the sensors on the fresh water tank. Are they mounted too high and close together to read 1/3, 2/3, and full??

Thanks,

The tank is custom shaped. The main part of the tank that holds most of the water likely has it's bottom about where the top of the 8 is on your photo

Powercat,

Ok, that makes sense, did not think of that.

Thanks!

Thanks,
That does make one wonder doesn't it? The sensors seem mounted a bit high on our 2014 36M also. It will read empty, but you see the water in the tank at 1/2 full.

A great way to know would be to drain the fresh tank completely and then, with a flow meter on a hose, fill the tank while monitoring the level reading inside the RV. Then you'd be able to know how many gallons you have in the tank at each level reading.

Perhaps... one could move the sensors after such a test to provide more accurate readings.

This is one of those times when we each may view things from a different direction. Some like my wife are more prone to having trouble when looking at this, so maybe a picture can help as it is actually pretty simple but easy for our mind to get the wrong idea as we are used to thinking in rectangles, which is not the case in our tanks. Winnebago does do a really good job of building their own custom tanks and getting far more volume into small spaces which might be wasted otherwise. Building a tank to fit over and around some item like storage or gensets can get them more space.

Sketch above is correct.

Fresh water tank is missing in the plumbing diagrams. But is shown in the parts listing.
