2017 Adventurer 35P

Will the Adventurer 35P handle the mountains through Colorado on the way to Moab, Utah? We are pulling a Jeep Wrangler as our toad. Any comments are welcome.

We have the larger model Adventurer, same year, and pull a 4,400 lb toad. We’ve found the RV does well in the Rockies. We routinely visit New Mexico and Colorado traveling to Durango, Creede, Pagosa Springs and up/down Wolf Creek Pass.

2017 is the last official year for the “old, fully featured” Adventurer and it is a great RV. If you’ve found a good one BUY IT!

We are also really happy with our 2017 Adventurer 35P. After shaking out a few issues at the beginning, the coach has been great. Really solid and dependable. No issues with mountain passes in CA and OR where I usually drive. Because it uses engine breaking in the tow/haul mode, you will need to firmly brake to slow down once the RPM reaches about 5,000. There are other threads on that topic, but downhill is easy to manage.

We had a 2010 35P Adventurer.....with the workhorse 8.1 and the Allison transmission, the coach worked beautifully towing a Jeep Liberty. That coach took us to Alaska and back with not mechanical problem, but we did have a broken windshield on our way up, but waited for our return trip to have it replaced at the Winnebago factory with a OEM windshield.
I can't say enough about our 2017 (bought in 2017) Adventurer F53 on a 26K chassy with the 6 speed tranny.........enjoy the ride much more.

Hope you enjoy the performance with the 320hp engine 6 speed tranny.....we certainly do.

We live in Colorado,have a 2016 38Q and we tow a Jeep Wrangler. You are not going to be passing cars going up the passes. But you shouldn’t be in a hurry anyway.

Ours is an oldie but so am i. (83) driving a 03 adventurer w/8.1 ltr.
Been in all 49 states except Hawaii of course. Great mh, it's always had the power for mtns pulling a chevy malibu. Adventurer 35u.

Although we are very happy with our 2016 35P, it does not have the poop that our 2003 33v on the Workhorse chassis had. I never got below 45 MPH on any incline with the '03 and have been down to 35 MPH on HWY 50, going up to Tahoe a couple times. I think it is the tranny that makes a big difference. Can't beat Allison!
