Thanks to all of you who gave me so many helpful ideas but winner is, , rodent chewed through fuel injector wiring on number 4 cylinder. Never would have thought that could be the problem. Thanks to all of you who gave me advice.

Just checking on rats chewing through wiring, and it looks like soy insulation is being used on newer vehicles. This article specifically calls-out Ford in 2016 for Soy Wiring. It looks like moth balls might deter the rats.

Interesting, we’ve had no such problem with our cars outside 24/7 like our neighbors have. But, then again, we did get a Terrier., named...Wyatt..

Glad to hear it wasn't my worst case scenario of a cracked block/blown head gasket.

Any indication of whether there was more chewing beyond that one item? My concern would be that in wet conditions you might get some shorting if there is more.
