2013 Vista bed

New to us 2013 Vista 30T (2300 miles)
The full queen is wedged between the two side shelves in the bedroom.
You have to actually pull the mattress out past the end of the shelf before you can make the bed. What a pain. It is a full queen.
Looking at pictures of newer models it looks as though the mattress fits better between the sides. Did they make modifications ?

I have a 2017 LX 30T and my bed looks the same as yours. I don't think there is that much shelving to warrant pulling he mattress out. You can get far enough up to reach in my opinion. In any case the 2017 looks the same as yours.

What you describe is a typical configuration for RV beds. After a while, we realized that it is easiest to just pull the mattress out entirely to put the fitted sheet on and don't bother tucking in the flat sheet on the upper half of the mattress. It may not look as pretty as a nicely tucked sheet but we don't usually have visitors wandering into our bedroom.

We have a 2013 SunStar 26 footer with the same set up for the bed. We make the bed as a team (one on either side) to install the sheets. I'll pull the mattress all the way down, install the fitted sheet and I'll push it back up to install the flat sheet and blanket. That's life in an RV now!!

This is normal. To facilitate the sliding of the bed many of us have stuck floor tiles(get the cheapest so you have enough) to the base.

bed and slide

Sue, could you explain your "tile" hack for making your slide bed easier to work with/make up. We just purchased a 22m and are newbies. Trying to figure out the easiest way to handle the slide bed with the bedclothes on if it is possible. Thanks

You just take the mattress off, put the sticky tiles down on the base, make sure you don't cover the hinge. You will need to trim some of the tiles so make sure you have a utility knife and straight edge. Makes the bed much easier to slide forward/back. The cheapest tiles have more tiles per box since they are thinner. We have done this in all our RVs once we heard about it and have been ery happy with the hack.

Good luck...........
