2012 to 2014 Tour

A question for those of you in the know. What changes have happened between a 2012 Tour 42QD and a 2014 Tour 42QD?
Anything worth paying the new coach price over used?

Big difference is DEPRECIATION. While new is nice and shiny you will lose from 20 to 50k driving it off the lot. I will NEVER buy a new rig. There are a lot of nice used ones out there where someone else took the loss.

Just my 2 cents

The 2014 has a full side awning, I think. It also has LED lighting and a beautiful tile around the fireplace. It also has an external "tail gate" refrigerator and induction grill on the outside.

Are you asking because you are looking to buy a 2010 or a 2014 Tour? I have a 2012. Looked at the 2014 at the Hershey show. I wouldn't trade mine for the new one. I like the finish and materials on the 2012 much better. The price isn't much more than I paid in 2012, but as said above, the driveaway depreciation is a killer! The only things I liked better on the 2014 are the two outside awnings. The additional length of both awnings is nice, but we don't miss it. If you are looking to buy, a two year old motorhome with reasonable mileage should be a good buy. Along with the depreciation difference, the 'bugs' should all be worked out! Unfortunately, an issue with a new coach.

I'm happy with my 2011 Tour 42QD and wouldn't upgrade from it for any of the new features. I like the pop-up TV in the bedroom that went away in the later models. I don't know if IFS matters much on the front end, but mine is easy to drive and rides well. More recent models have more QC issues, based on what I've read here, so I'll just keep what I have.

Do not forget the NEW BIG Government diesel emissions addons will also add $10,000 to the sticker price. Plus putting in urtha (sp). Older diesels do not have to do this.
2X DEPRECIATION!

About half of the 2011 Tours have the newer engines with urea (aka Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tanks. The OP was asking about 2012 and 2014 versions. All of them use the newer engines. The good news is that they're rated at 450 HP versus 400 HP for the previous engine. Also, the engines use very little DEF so the 18 gallon tank goes a long way.

Thanks for the input. That 2012 slipped away while we were thinking about it however a 2013 popped up and we put a deposit on it.
It's coming in on a trade down in Florida so when it shows up we will head down to take a look at it.
