Well said radams.
We believe that this can be done without loosing a ton of equity. We started 2 1/2 years ago with a 2001 Adventurer 35U we purchased for $32,000 and sold for $37,000 after having it for one year, camping 100+ nights, and much fun. A year and a half ago we purchased a 2006 Suncruiser 35A for $70,000 and sold it for $75,000 two weeks ago, again we had very much fun and camped a ton. Even took a nine week summer trip up the east coast to NFalls from Florida in it.
We considered purchasing a 2013 42E to have a very nice coach without paying the price of a new Tour. We didn't want to regret not buying the Tour so we shopped 3 dealers in Florida that wanted too much money and all three miss led us in one way or another. We called Lichtsinn Motors in Forest City Ia. Casey there has been absolutely amazing. She gave us the best price even considering we will be flying up to drive it back. She is very honest and on the mark. She even caught another dealer misleading us by $5,000.00. I was very impressed with that. She set out to sell us a coach and she did just that! We will be picking up our 2013 QDG Tour maxed out soon for very little more than what they want for that 2011 Ellipse at Camping World. We flew up to go to the factory tour and met Ron Lichtsinn who is also very friendly. He was on his way out to spend time with his kids. We met Hanna the finance girl who we really liked then at the factory tour we met Dave who was very helpful to us and took as much time as we wanted answering questions and showing us around. Dave was Hanna's Dad! Dave Neddles at CDI, the factory that paints the coaches was kind enough to take us though and show us how it was done. He treats his employees to lunch and let's them play country music. They were working hard and having fun. I would recommend this dealer to anyone. They all seem like down home honest family folks that are having fun and proud of Winnebago.
I would hate to see you spend almost as much for a used 2011 (a mistake we almost made too) when you could order a new 2013 from Casey for VERY little more!
Work hard, play hard, buy low!

No reason to buy an older unit unless there are considerable savings IMO. I bet if you called them and asked what it was worth as a trade in you would be shocked.
