2010 Itasca Suncruiser - Requesting Comment(s)

Moving forward towards our entry into the Fill-Time RV community. Apprecriate comment(S) on 2010 Itasca Suncruiser 32H. Unit has new tires, 18k miles. After several visit walking through the unit; have not noticed any problem(s). However, as a newbie I am hoping there are many experienced in the Winnebage family who may provide me with some insights.

Just a couple I can think of while traveling. Do you like the floor plan? Have you made your lists of Must Haves, and Things You Don't Want? Look at lots of MH and floor plans online and then check them out in person. I personally think you need to find the floor plan and if it's gas or DP? What's your budget?

Have it totally checked out by an independent mechanic. Ask to see maintenance records. Take for road test. Has it been sitting or traveling? I know more will jump in with their opinions and tips. Good luck in your search.

I just did a search in IRV2 and found about 50 threads on Suncruiser. Not specific to your year or model, but might be helpful.

The 2010 Suncruiser is identical to our 2013 Adventurer 32H. We love the motorhome and have had very few problems with it. While under warranty the only issues we had were a squeaky MDC shade on the front window and a slide adjustment for the full wall slide. We have a little over 20,000 miles on ours.

Our only complaints are that the cupboards and the microwave are extremely high on the walls. I'm 5' 9" and can't reach to the back of the cupboards or microwave without standing on a stool. Other than that it's been a great motorhome.

Not exactly identical. The 2010 models were the last year to use the RVP "Coleman" basement AC units. I'm thinking your 2013 has AC on the roof. Also, the 2010 had either a Workhorse or Ford chassis whereas your 2013 is Ford only.

Sorry about that. I should have said the floor plan is identical to our 2013 Adventurer. The fact that the 2010 still has basement air is a plus in my mind. Our roof air conditioners work well, but can be noisy (by comparison) when you're trying to watch the TV.

I wish our 2013 had the basement air like our 2001 did.

Thank-you for your comments. Very helpful. We are very excited our transition to FT in our coach will begin mid-June 2015. Many tasks to complete, however your responses greatly helps with priorities.

You might find 32 ft too small for full timing. We have friends that spend about 3 months in their motor home during the winter. They have had several motor homes in the last 40 years, but always insisted any thing over 32' was too long. They now have a 35' and can't believe the difference 3' can make. We have a 35' Brave and a 38' Adventurer, again that 3' makes a huge difference in living for an extended period of time.

There are various rv checklists online that are helpful in evaluating and preparing your motorhome.

Whether you will be satisfied with the size of an rv depends largely on your camping style. We purchased our motorhome two years ago and it was our first rv, so didn't quite know what to expect. We've been on the road ever since and are still happy with it. We prefer boondocking and staying in public campgrounds - COE, city, state, and national parks for periods of a week or less. Many sites in these areas are even too small for our 32' rig, but it has proven to be a good balance of size and comfort overall.

Itasca's seem to be of decent quality and worthy of investing in upgrades if you like the floorplan and otherwise find it suitable to your needs.
