Today I test drove a 2007 Winnebago Journey 34H and really like it, would like better interior colors and not shag carpet, and more storage but still think it is desirable. It has the 350 hp cat, full body paint, Alcoa wheels, electric awning, sleep# bed, 3M mask, etc. 27000 miles and very clean. They (dealer) are asking $160,000 and I am thinking $140,000 at the top if I can get $40,000 (probably high but to match their high price) for my 2006 Outlook ($82400 msrp). Any suggestions for a price range for a used Journey?

Hmmm NADA low retail is $113,340 Dealer probably has about $100,000 in it.

Winnebago will fax or email you the original price sheet. That would be a good thing to have, figure out what a good price would have been two years ago new. (NADA says it was $183,882 that's probably the base price. With the big motor and a few options original sticker was probably around $200,000. Should have sold for around $150,000.) $140,000 definitely seems high.

We just traded a Meridian 36, 07. Paid less than that when we bought it new 2 years ago. Price is too high for that coach.

Yeah, I paid $150k new for my 34H that was stickered at $201k. I sold it about a year ago for $122,500, and times weren't as bad then as they are now. Of course that was a private party deal, not a dealer. On the other hand the rig you're looking at is now a year older than mine was when I sold it. I would think you ought to be able to get a better deal than that. Good luck.

You guys are great! With all of you and Winnebago how could someone stray to another brand?
Tderonne - Thanks for the price sheet advice. I never knew. This morning I got a reply from Winnebago with 3 pdf's of info on the Journey. I'm impressed.
I'm thinking of offering 110,000 and 35,000 for my trade. This should be interesting.

I'll be honest, the only reason I strayed to another brand is because Winne doesn't make a bunk bed DP. And while the Newmar is all around a good product, there are certainly things I miss about the Winne. The biggest thing I miss is Winne's customer support, they were superb! Don't get me wrong, Newmar has been good, but Winne was great! Good luck on getting a deal you can feel good about, that's the most important part. And you'll love the 34H and the 350 CAT, other than my wife wanting the bunk beds, we really liked ours.

The price sheets are great aren't they? Brochures have a way of confusing things so you really don't know what options are what. Real obvious with the price sheets. And really nice to look at a used coach with one in hand, the owner saying it's "loaded" doesn't mean much. Knowing what all the options were tells you much more.

Good luck.

Sold, before we got there this morning. $99000. Still I gained some valuble information and the more knowledge the better when dealing with motorhomes.
arank1971 - I've also looked at Monaco (2001 Signature 42') tag axle and big. Features are amazing for it's age. Would be good for full timing. Hard to stray from Winnebago though and what would I do during the middle of July in Iowa?
Thanks everyone and maybe someone else lurking has picked up some valuable information.

Jerry,
Take a look at the latest Camping World magazine and their new motor home prices. They have significantly reduced the price on many, I assume just to get them off their hands.

Jerry,

Sorry you missed that coach. At $99k you could feel comfortable it was priced right.

Both Alan (Afrank) and I can attest that the Winnie Journey 34H are great coaches!

When dealing, know that you can get wholesale for the new coach, but you'll get wholesale for your trade as well.

Good luck on your search.
