2005 Winnebago Journey 39 ft. with a problem with my engine heater.

I am a new owner of a 2005 Winnebago Journey 39 ft. with a problem with my engine heater. I am not getting vacuum to the heater control valve and would like to know where the vacuum pump is and how to get to it. I think it is under the dash but, if so, how do you remove the horizontal portion of the instrument panel?

Thanks Chris, my connedtion to the Ranco valve (water valve) is ok. I think the problem is lack of electricitiy to the vacuum pump. I don't know where the vacuum pump is located on the Wilnnebago but if it is under the dash, how do you get the horizontal dash pad (the piece that goes all across the front of the coach) off? Ron

I don't know precisely where the vacuum pump is on your coach, but I would expect that you would find it under the front hood, along with the spherical vacuum reservoir. If you follow the tubing from the reservoir you should find the pump.

We own a 2001 Journey so the layout may be different. On ours, the vacuum pump is just in the front access and to the right as you face the coach. It is a standard Ford truck vacuum pump. I had the front off to replace the expansion coil and heater core so replaced the vacuum pump while it was easy.
Hope this helps.

Had the same problem on a '05 Vectra. Look under the hood. Facing the coach on the right you will find the small vacuum pump. Mine had a cracked hose going to a small elbow. Examine all of the vacuum hoses for cracks.
