Been looking at a 36' Vectra. Can someone tell me what is the difference of the 2 coaches in reguards to the GCWR being higher in the 2006. I can not find anything in any literature or documentation at Winnebago site. Both coaches are on the evolution chassis. Thanks

Front and rear axles and GCWR are higher rated in the '06 compared to '05. It's all in the previous year model specifications on the Winnie web site.

Previous year model information is available from Winnebago; go to http://www.winnebagoind.com/products/previous-models/ and select the year and model for a .pdf brochure.

The '06 35RD has a GVWR of 32,000 lbs, a GCWR of 42,000 lbs. and comes with a 7.2L Caterpillar C7 turbo-charged diesel and Allison 3000 MH six-speed transmission.

The '05 has the same engine/transmisson specifications, but there were two 36' models. The 36RD has a GVWR of 29,410 lbs. (GCWR of 39,410 lbs.) and the 36GD has a GVWR of 27,910 lbs. (GCWR of 37,910 lbs.)

I saw that on the web site, just want to know what is different. Both chassies are the same I think. There must be some difference, Tires, storngersprings, Air bags, ect. Does anyone know what the main difference besides the numbers listed?

I can tell you the difference between the '05 Vectra/Horizon (40') and the '06 model - the front axle was uprated to 14,200 (don't remember the exact #) pounds from 12,000, the tires went to Load Range H from G, the the steering box was changed out to handle the added ~2,000 pounds.

I suspect the 36' model has similar changes.

For the 2006 36RD the only chassis change as far as I know was a tire upgrade--the 2005 36RD was limited by the tires on both front and rear axles.

While checking with the factory engineers on the tow capacity discrepancies between the '08 and '09 View (3500 vs. 5000), we also checked on the '05 vs. '06 Vectra GVW / GCW.

According to Winnebago, the only difference was a tire upgrade in '06 from a LR-G 255/80x22.5 to a LR-G 275/80x22.5.

Also, our View supposedly has a 5000# tow rating, despite the stickers saying 3500#

YMMV - so check with the factory if you need to know.
