2003 Journey Wtr Htr problem
We have a 2003 Journey 34'. After sitting at our Fla home over winter, just a short flow of hot water, then slow to a trickle. Cold side works fine. Research here and other sites indicates Bypass diverter valve. Water gets to the bypass, when switch is turned onto bypass, there is flow to the hot. check valve out of tank is fine, I plumbed a hose inlet to the tank drain and when put water to there we had plenty hot water. After taking to local RV repair and replacing the diverter valve ($270 for valve cost!) STILL no hot water pressure. Is there any kind of other valve that could be an obstruction between the diverter valve and tank? I looked at plumbing schematic online but could not see enough detail to tell. Any help greatly appreciated, before I return to RV place again, B

I would suspect the check valve on the cold inlet side.

I had limited and then no water flow from the hot water heater. It turned out to be the check valve on the hot water side of the water heater.

Yep, we also had a stuck check valve.

Wtr Htr problem
Thanks for the replies, that is what i was trying to determine, if winnebago puts a check valve on the cold inlet side of the Wtr Htr between the diverter and the tank. In my research online before taking in was a diagram showing diverter valve and only a check valve on hot discharge side, none on cold inlet. If one is on cold, that would explain the problem. Are the diverter valves close to the hot water heater on the Journey models? thanks all , B

X2, i had it removed and the hot water flows very nicely now. I had to talk loudly to the technician that knew better than I. I told them, when they are paying for the repair, they can over ride my orders, but since I am paying for it (118 per hour) do as I ask. I have also had the auto winterize system removed, I use air to winterize.
