08 Voyage Couch

I have a Flexsteel sofa bed, electric, in my 08 Voyage. When it's in the upright position, it feels like it is semi-reclined. Not comfortable at all! Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a fix for it other than a pillow behind your back?

Has the couch always been like this?

Have you checked under the couch?

My couch was getting so it did not want to return to the upright position ... I found the jack screw under the couch needed some lubrication ... while I was under there I found some "lost" stuff ...

Is it possilbe that you have something under the couch preventing complete travel?

Ours was like you describe. While I had it out to redo the carpet, I ground off the stops that it hits in the upright position. I didn't weld in new stops, could have, it probably pulls in the bottom of the couch too far, past where the lower face is. I have the ottoman portion out right now, three plastic tubs are in there, rather have the storage than the ottoman, so it doesn't matter to us.

It's been like that since day one. I thought it might just be the nature of the beast but it is really uncomfortable to sit at an angle for any length of time

I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one with this problem.
I emailed customer service at Flexsteel right after I posted this. So far no reply, possibly they should change their title to customer dis-service or no-service!!!!!

We are looking to purchase a flexsteel couch for our motorhome--one of the new airbeds that is a sofa couch. We are trying to find one to test sit in and lay on to see how comfortable. Reading your post has us wondering now and glad we are going to "test" one first!
Any response from Flexsteel yet?

I found out last week that Winnibago has their own manufacturer for that couch. It is not Flexsteel.
I finally got a reply from Flexsteel tho It took them nearly a month to respond and I was told there is no adjustment possible on their couches.

We have the same type sofa. We agree that it is not very comfortable. I have thought about asking the local upholstery shop. Thanks for bringing this up. I'll be watching hoping someone will have the answer.

I forgot to mention that I spoke to a Winni factory service guy. He said that as far as he was aware, there had been no complaints about that couch. His suggestion was to take it to my dealer and let them mess with it. Since it's out of the 1 year warrenty, I guess I'll be crawling under it to see what I can do
