05 Journey solar panels

Gents...
Looking for someone with solar panels on a 05 Journey to get an idea where the controller is located and where the wires to it and from the controller were routed.

Thanks,
Mark

solar

I put mine in the wall on the right of the stove next to the fridge. I fished the wires down the fridge vent cover. the converter is below the fridge so the battery wires that go to it i just hooked up to them. About two hours to install. 2 130 watt panals. Don

The 34H sounds similar.
I have 4ea. 100w panels on the roof that feed into a J-Box next to the fridge vent. I drilled a diagonal hole from the box to the rear fridge cavity and dropped straight down to the charge controller located under the fridge. From there I have a piece of plastic conduit to the battery compartment that contains the batt temp sensor, ext. voltage sense, and engine charge leads (5a trickle). Along side the conduit are 2 pieces of 4ga welding cable covered in Slit-Wrap.

I'm sure some will complain about the run to the batteries, but that's one of the reasons I have 21v panels, ext. voltage sense, and the 4ga feeders. I see charge currents in excess of 30A at the batteries.

Can you tell me how you anchored the panel brackets to the thin fiberglass roof? When a dealer installed my sat dish he had trouble with the screws pulled back through the fiberglass as they tighten them.

See this thread on various solar installs, mine is in there as well. All 4 panels are attached with Scotch VHB double sided tape with 150lb/sq in. shear, and they haven't moved at all.
