04 Vectra Shower Mount Bar

Hi all -
I am trying to figure out how to remove the shower mounting bar in our 2004 Vectra 40KD. I want to re-paint the gold to match, but can't see how to remove the bar.
There are what look like 'pins' that are at the top and bottom of the mounts, but they don't appear to be screws and they do not depress in.
I've attached a picture of the entire bar plus one of the lower 'pins.'
Any assistance would be appreciated!
John

I suspect what you say looks like a pin is really a plug, and if you pry it out there should be a set screw under it.

And the winner is *mikf*

and the crowd goes wild!!!
Thank you SO MUCH.
You were spot-on, and naturally it made sense once you said they were plugs. Pulled them out with the edge of a flat-head screwdriver, exposing the phillips-head set screws at top and bottom.
All removed and now comes the fun of prepping to paint, etc.
This group is just the greatest...

These are Moen faucets which come with a lifetime guarantee (don't know if that's only for the original owner, however). It might be worth contacting Moen if you need to replace anything.

We're going to need to see those when the painting is done.

Thanks everyone....

For the positive feedback.
No problems with the Moen faucets (3 of them in the rig)...except maybe the gold color in the bath and bedroom. Hence the white paint :-)
Nonetheless, nice to know that they have a solid company behind them.

I'll post pics when finished....likely this weekend before I can make serious headway. I've painted similar fixtures (Delta faucets) in the house and they still look good years later. Same situation - gold to white.

Thanks again for the encouragement!

Completed paint job

Looks better in the photo than in person, but still a lot better than the gold :-)

Now I just have to tape off the area for the 1 gold piece remaining and then spray.

Thanks for the help, all!
