04 Meridian with pump noise under hood

Have had a problems recently with the vacuum pump under the hood running continuosly. Fortunately I have found older threads on this subject which were helpful in diagnosing the problem (hose leak to vacuum pump that operate dash A/C controls) and I have partially fixed the problem by replacing a broken hose that attaches to one of the vacuum modulators. Now the vacuum pump is silent except when I set the A/C to Max air setting, then the pump runs continuously and the air only moves thru the defroster vent near the windshield. So I have concluded that I still have a vacuum leak somewhere in the system, but I cannot locate either of the other two vacuum modulators to check the hose connections. Anyone know where they are located ?

Here is the link to a good service tip about the dash A/C and heater.

Note that on max air, vacuum is supplied to the water valve, this is a know area for the hose cracking at the elbow connecting the vacuum line to the valve.

Thanks for the link Grant, however I cannot get it to work. Any chance you have previously saved or printed that document and could e-mail it to me ?

Stevestorz, the vacuum control on my RV sounded like a marble in a can. Mine was located on the firewall opposite my feet in the driving position. It was a heavy-duty Ford truck part. No very expensive but a real stretch of a reach straight up for the R&R.

This was a hot topic several years ago, and several, including me posted pix of the problem hoses, where to look and what to fix. I'll look around, but if anyone can find that thread, that is what Grant needs.

Found it:
