I want to install a trik-l-start on my Journey. Can anyone point me to where the disconnect solenoid is and possibly a how to on wiring into the electrical system?

I installed a Trick-L-Start in about 90 minutes.

Step 1) Remove the dozen or so screws around the electrical fuse box in the front of the coach ... set the cover on the ground

Step 2) The Trick-L-Start will come with color coded wires with loops on the end ... I had to use a tool to get rid of some foamy insulation near the two solenoids.

Step 3) remove the appropriate nuts from the solenoids

step 4) connect the Trick-L-Start wires to the solenoids

step 5) connect the Trick-l-Start ground ... I drilled a small hole and used a sheet metal screw.

step 6) secure the Trick-l-Start ... I used a couple of nylon ties

step 7) put the cover back on ...

Most of the time is spent taking the cover off and putting it back on.

The solenoids will be in exactly the places shown on the Winnebago service document.

The instructions that come with the Trik-L-Start are very good. I did mine easily and quickly, go for it.

Thanks for all the replies.

I was looking for the solenoids in the rear by the batteries or Charger/Inverter.

Where's the best place to get the Trik -L -Start?

No, the relays are in the front on the left side. When you open the front access panel it will be on your left.
I had to remove some of the spray on foam to get to the terminals.

I have the twin of yours that I installed the trikLstart. You can see my installation pictures by clicking my name and go to my pics.
1st of all I did not install mine accordiing to the Winnebago instructions for the following reason.
Winnebago has you installing the house battery lead to the house battery disconnect solonoid. The triklcharge will only send charge to your chassis batteries with your battery disconnect switch in the ON position.
I installed both my Blue/yellow - chassis/house batterie wires from the trikLstart to the battery isolator solonoid.
That way the chassis battery will receive charge when your dash disconnect switch is in the off or on position.
The advantage being, you can have your chassis batteries turned off, and no parasitic loads going on in the RV. Ex. smoke detectors etc. which is important if you intend to leave your coach unattended as in storage.
meanwhile both house and chassis batteries will receive charge.
The black ground wire I mounted under the mounting screw of the trickLstart.
Both my pictures clearly show the solonoid with the blue and yellow wire attatched to the bottom of the solonoid, and the mounted TrikLstart with the ground wire attatched to the upper right screw.

RCTime, I install the one on my Journey before I saw the Winnebago Service Tip and I wired it like you did battery to battery.

Looks like we need to do this too... we have an 03 Journey 32T with the same trickle issues driving us crazy. Going to give some of the other tips a try but we're also planning on installing battery cut off switches as well.

RCTime - couldn't locate your pictures as mentioned in your post. Clicked on your name, but no options for them came up. Would love to see the pictures before we do this. If you could email them that would be great.
