Greatscot, The drawings for your coach do not show a engine running disconnect switch. As mentioned above start the generator or connect to power to see if things run off of 110VAC. The inverter only supplies the TV's and front video components.

OK, so I tried the suggestions. I turned on the inverter with the engine off. The DVD/VHS player did have power ( and it did previously with the engine running). The TV still would not turn on. I turned off the inverter and started the genset. The TV did come on. The TV is buried in this massive cabinet , so I am unable to check the 110v outlet it is plugged in to.
I believe I am now on to my next step, which is to remove the monster CRT TV and the cabinet and replace with an LED flat screen. If I can't solve the mystery of the TV not working off the inverter, then I may have to look at 110v/12v DC options.
Thanks to all for numerous suggestions and helpful hints.

Sounds like the TV is not plugged into an inverter powered outlet.

NOTE: the plug for the TV is often in a compartment NEXT to the TV.. That way you can plug/unplug without pulling the big monster out of the box.
