Water pressure regulator?

Hi All,
Does any body know if an 07 Winney adventurer 38t would have a regulator installed from the factory? if so where would it be? our Camp site has tons of water pressure, but DW feels that water pressure ,especially in the shower is too low?

Milo

Milom, I do not see a factory regulator but I do see a large water filter back by the back water tank which could be a system water filter that needs changing.

Your RV does have a whole system water filter and an additional drinking water filter under the kitchen sink. In addition to those filters, the aerators on each faucet can get clogged and should be cleaned out periodically.

To find the plumbing diagram and if you have a pressure regulator installed by Winnebago, check here:

Winnebago Industries

It requires registration and I didn't see the need.

How to tell if you have a water pressure regulator method 1: (less precise)

Look at the benzel surrounding the fresh water inlet, IS there a small, screened hole usually below the hose connection? YES: regulator vent, NO, NO regulator present.

Method 2 (More accurate)

Look at the rear of said benzel , where the hose connects, IF there is a big plastic thign: THE REGUALTOR, if it's just a short pipe nipple with an optional right angle connector, NO regulator

The regulator (This is an inline model they make ) looks like the photo in the link,, I have one of those.

No, you do not have a pressure regulator built into your RV. You should definitely add one. I would recommend a whole house type because it allows more water through but regulates the pressure. My Suncruiser, which is the same as an Adventurer, had a problem with mineral buildup at each water fitting and anti-backflow valve. The faucet aerators clogged up too. This is due to the minerals in the water. I bought a water softener and use it regularly too. After cleaning out the clogged up valves, etc. the water pressure returned to a good level and has stayed that way.

The simple answer is NO. Others have mentioned what I am about to say. Clean the screens and soak the shower head in CRL or something like that.

Now the real problem IS tons of water pressure. Please consider getting the whole house type of pressure regulator from Lowe's, HD or some other source. It is adjustable and you can get a 1/2" size. You just need to buy the hose adapters. I have see what too much pressure can do and it is not nice. I have been in places where the pressure spikes to 120#+! Your pecks fittings may separate or the TP valve on the water heater may blow.

Hope you get a good flow of water with all of our suggestions.

A comment.. Filters can make a serious reduction in pressure.

Also if you are use to a strong shower at home, the pipes in a RV are smaller and not able to pass water that fast,, Oxygenics shower heads seem to work a bit better,, Though not all like them (one negative so far).

I find them mixed, I like mine, The ones a campground used were a bit .. Odd though.. That may have been something else though.

Suggestion: Try filling the fresh water tank and turning on the water pump when she showers.

For the best shower spray get an Oxygenics.

My Winne is an 08 so it may or may not be the same as yours.

1. No factory installed regulator

2. There is a whole house filter installed in the water bay. Remove the filter and check the pressure before installing a new one. When they get dirty pressure drops dramatically.

3. Install Oxygenics shower head, it makes a huge difference.

4. Test water pressure with city water and then with tank and pump and compare.

I have seen water pressure on my Watts regulator as low as 20 pounds. I have seen high water pressure warnings posted as high as 150 pounds at a KOA in Alberta, Canada. I have my regulator set at 60 pounds maximum.

Good catch on my omission of changing the water filter cartridge if one is installed.

I have the Oxygenics shower head. I like it for pressure but the flow pattern is not that great. My original head shutoff was sticking off. Not good when soap is getting in the eyes.

This is true about the pipe size. Most stick houses have a 3/4" main feed with 1/2" branches to the goes-outers. Many modern pex systems use a manifold and do home run piping to the faucets.

RVs use 1/2" pex and many, many elbows and fittings. The 1/2" hose most of us use is doable for our needs but not the stuff behind the RV wall bib entrance, All of this contributes to most of the fluctuating pressure problems most of us experience. Through hard water, TX an FL are a real problem, and its affect on the screen and we have the OP's problem.

Happy trails and water flow!

For all those that say their Adventurer has a whole house filter, did you buy your coach new or used? Is it possible the previous owner added a whole house filter? Also I'm aware that many of the DP's did come with the whole house filter. However I'm not aware of any Adventurers at least prior to 2014 that came from the factory with the whole house filter system

We're on our second Adventurer a 2013. Our first was a 2001. Neither of them came from the factory with a whole house filter, although I understand the 2015's now do. Both came with an under sink filter for drinking water from a separate spigot in the kitchen.

We added a Hydro-Life whole house filter to the 2013 after experiencing water issues last year in Florida.

Also neither came with a whole house water pressure regulator. We use one like this.

Hikerdogs, the owner's manual for the OP's model says it has a whole system filter in the wet bay and a second filter under the sink.

I guess we picked the wrong years if we wanted a whole house filter from the factory.

On our 38T I purchased an after market water pressure regulator and it sits installed on the water "hook" up in the wet bay. Use it everywhere so I know my pressure coming in from the Campgrounds is set just right so my water lines are not over pressurized.
PS there is not "factory" installed water pressure device.

Thanks for all the replies, Picked up a high flow regulator from Camping world on sale and removed cartridge from the "whole house water filtration system" and water flow is much better now. Next is to replace filter cartridge! Should have done that when we first bought the coach Last April.
