Victron SmartShunts Installation on VIew

Looking for information on installing a Victron Smartshunt 500 on a 2018 View 24D. Where did you mount the shunt? The manual says it is not waterproof and must be mounted in a dry location. The battery compartment does not appear to be waterproof to me.

It appears that an extra battery cable is required between the shunt and battery battery terminal. Is that right?

You probably figured it out by now. the bluetooth range of the smartshunt is very limited. have the same unit. works pretty good otherwise.
