Our Sightseer came with 2 SRM-24 coach batteries in parallel. This gives us a combined total of 120amp hours. I'd like to switch to Trojan T-105's which would yield nearly double (225 amp hours). I can fit 2 T-105's easily, but I've heard it is possible to get 4 T-105's into the battery well. Has anyone actually done this? Could you share how?

The T105 has a 10-3/8 x 7-1/8 footprint. It looks like the battery well in the 29R (under the steps) is roughly 11 x 16. I'm thinking it is just not possible to get 4 T-105's in there along with the engine battery.

Help! What do others do??

Just out of curiosity, even if you can fit 5 batteries under the step, can the charger and/or alternator handle the extra load?

I have an Itascae 2001 30w, a similar sized coach to yours, and I was able to put in 4 T125's under my step. It was quite the jigsaw puzzle. I'm sorry I don't have a picture, I might be able to get one in a couple of weeks, but if you search the site someone once posted a picture once.
But what I did before I bought the batteries was cut out cardboard templates the size of the battery, cut out 4 of them and go out to your rig and pull out your batterys and try and see iy they fit. and I had to move my chassie battery around so all 5 batterys would fit.

One of the users here 'bccsrc' moved the engine battery with a new mount and then added 4 T105's under the step. You might try to message him. I think he posted a photo of the mod over on RV.net as I'm not finding it when I search here.

Alfred,
Looking down from above, I put 2 of the 6V with the wide sides together on the left, and 2 on the right side the same way, that left me room in the center vertically for the chassis battery.
This requires a lot of patience and rewiring, not much wire but a lot of connectors. Be use to use the same size wire as the original batteries. I used marine cable as it is a lot more flexible.

Have you looked into Rolls batteries ? I had 4-4D sized batteries in my boat. I had them 9 years without any trouble. They had superior RC than to anything available at the time and being mat design instead of plate, the recharge rate was almost double.

Dont be confused by adding up the amp hours of six volts. Two six volts with an amp hour rating of 110 amp hours each will not give you 220 amp hours total at 12 volts.
