Series or Parallel

I just added my first two solar panels to my rig with the intention will be to add more in the future.

My though was to go parallel because if one is shaded the other should be working fine.

My setup;
Two 12v battle born 100Ah lithium batteries
Victron MPPT 100/50 solar controller.
Two 210 watt solar panes (22.4 V/9.8 A each)

I think my solar controller only kicks on when the PV voltage is more than 5 volts higher than the batter. The lithium batteries are at 14.4 volts when charged, plus the 5 volt difference, and my solar panels would need to be producing 19.4 volts or more before starting to charge.

In my case, is it better to install them in series or parallel or doesn't really matter?

Thanks for any suggestions or comments.

I'm surprised no responses ... Did I ask a dumb question or ask it in a bad way?

To simplify the question ... with two solar panels is it better to wire them in series or parallel, or doesn't it matter?

Thanks.

I don't know the answer for panels, but when I read the question when posted my thought was a third option: Daisy chain, as is the case with outlets. But I don't know whether that's the right answer.
