I need new cranking batteries. My Horizon 40AD came with two Interstate Workaholic 31MHD, 950 CCA, sealed, maintenance free batteries.

I was at the Caterpillar dealer yesterday getting a PM done and noticed they have their own brand of group 31 cranking batteries. The CCA and amp hour specs are impressive and are designed for deep discharge as well as being maintenance free.

If you're considering a battery disconnect take a look at the ones from Flaming River (www.flamingriver.com). They build them for heavy equipment, over the road trucks, and race cars. I've used them over the years on equipment and currently have one in our Adventurer. The larger ones can handle a 2,500 amp draw for 5 minutes. That should certainly be strong enough. The last one I bought cost about $50.00 plus shipping. It only takes a few minutes to install.
