Problems with GFCI

I have a problem that has bothered me for a long time.

The Freedom Combi 1500 inverter on board had problems with the GFCIs and burned them.

One day I found that the Leviton GFCIs are not compatible with the Inverter, so I replaced all with Legrand - Pass & Seymour GFCIs.

The problem is that Legrand detects a phase-neutral inversion and deactivates the entire line.

I checked all the receptacles 120 V on board and they are all wired correctly, but on the neutral, where there should not be electricity, I always detect a voltage between 24 and 36 V.

I can not understand what is happening.

I can not put the Leviton GFCI back on because the Inverter burns them literally, they can not keep the Legrand because they snap and leave me without power. What to do?

I have read all the posts in the forum but I have not found a similar case.

Has anyone a similar experience?

How did you solve it?

Thanks from now!

The online manual for the inverter charger is dated 1998 so I assume yours is quite old.
Can you tell us the make model year of your RV and if the unit is original OEM?

I have never heard the phrase "Phase Neutral Inversion" before can you say in a different way what you think the inverter output is doing?

Is there any problem with the GFCIs when the unit is just cutting thru shore power with it's internal transfer switch?

Why have you installed so many GFCIs ? I assume the OEM had 1 or 2 at most.

Thanks, I hope I can be of more help once you provide more information.

Thank You!

Yes, august 1999, original unit!

When I insert the tester in the receptacles it detects inverted phase/neutral; when I measure the voltage in the neutral find anywhere from 24 to 36 Volt.

Apparently there are no electrical problems (short circuits or other).

The GFCI on board are only 2.

The inverter now keeps it off because I use the city grid.

Do the lights indicate Correct with shore power on?

Are you using a tester like this?

Can you describe the light result indicator you are getting. I am confused because I have never seen one of these testers with one of the light combinations labeled Phase Neutral Inversion
