Has anyone replaced their dinky porch light with something more residential. I would like to replace it but don't want to reinvent the wheel. Photo's would be appreciated.

I would be concerned about the air dynamics of the replacement lamp you may be considering. Anything from the residential line of outdoor lighting that I have seen would stick out from your wall, and you will probably have to run 120 volt power to it. Though it could be attached securely I'd be concerned about the wind noise it may produce while going down the road. Good luck and let us know what you end up with and how it turns out!

I guess the question is what are you looking for, more light? I have a "scare light" that is currently on suction cups waiting for me to decide if I should replace the rather anemic porch light. IF that happens I'll have a dimmer on it as well.

I'm thinking about more light and something that looks better. Would stay with 12 volt. I've thought about a fog/driving light like on my truck. ??????

THIS is what I have. It's a great area light, but in close quarters your neighbors might not like you much. It's called Scare Light for a reason.

Have seen large clear flat style lights on police/ambulance vehicles and thought these might be a good replacement but have not actually tried one yet. Probably available through emergency vehicle supply houses.

Bill </div></BLOCKQUOTE>See my link above. Commonly available at RV houses for ~ $18-25. Here in Q I saw them for around $16

Does the light shine straight out into the next RV, or down towards the ground as an area light?

Good luck.

Oops, sorry if you can't open the previous link. Just google Hawk Scare Light and you will find it.
