open neutral in RV winnie 2001 journey

the old inverter burned out!! and last year we had a surge that burned out all the cirucit boards for water heater and air heater. microwave was ok.


so we replaced the 110vac to 12vdc unit.. but the transfer switch was ok we thought.


i just got a 50amp surge guard southwire model 34950. i plugged the 50 amp into the surge and used 30 amp adapter from my house 30amp rv plug.


i get OPEN neutral on the RV. and it wont connect power.



any one have this and was it the transfer switch?? relays?? or the 50amp power cord
from the box to the surgeguard>?

If the surge guard is reporting a problem, it is before the SG. It does not monitor downstream errors.

Check your 30 amp adapter and the house 30 amp receptacle. Be sure it is a RV type and not a dryer.

If you live in an old house not all plugs will be grounded. If that's the case you will need to ground the plug in to a water pipe, as an example. An easy check would be to start your generator and Ill bet it shows your grounded. If that's the case It's your house that is causing the problem.
