Need an EPO?

In years past when RVing, I considered an external EPO (like this one) to be a must have.

I'm upgrading to a new Adventurer that comes standard with a surge protector and power management system built in. I think I still need the EPO - it will protect against voltage drops / spikes and bad wiring from the pole before those problems can get near my electrical system. But, I'm not sure and I don't want to throw US$250 at a problem that my RV already has handled.

Would love the forums guidance and thoughts - thanks in advance!

Yes, you still need an EMS (you call it an EPO) for your new RV. The installed Transfer Switch has some surge protection but does not offer the other problems that can occur with shore power.

If choosing portable, many of us with 50-amp service use the Progressive Industries EMS-PT50X Portable RV Surge Protector (50 A). I don't know if your Adventurer is 50-amp or not, but they make a 30A version as well.
