Has anyone had a problem with the engine low voltage alarm coming on and indicating that the voltage output is only 9.7 when it should be 14.6?
I have a 2004 Winnebago Adventurer 33' on a workhorse chassis. I have it in for repair at a Workhorse authorized facility but they are having a problem locating the problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

Update
I heard from the shop working on my unit that it is not the alternator as it checks out fine but now the alarm and guages etc stay on after the key has been turned off and removed.
The shop is in contact with the Tech's at Workhorse trying to figure out the problem.
So if anyone has had a similiar problem or this actual problem I would like to hear from you on how you resolved it.
Thanks for any help you can render.

Well I got my coach out of the shop today and they had to replace the PCM and checked out all the connections, terminals and the wiring from the cluster to the PCM.
It looks like the problem was with the PCM is what the service tech explained to me.
A big thanks to folks at S&J Chevrolet of Cerritos, CA. for there help in solving the problem.

A PCM is installed on the W16-18 & P32 because these rigs use the GM 4L80E and the 4L85E transmissions. On the other hand vehicles equiped with an Allison transmission have an Engine Control Module (ECM) and a Transmission Control Module (TCM).

So there you go!

Hi DriVer,
Thanks for your help on my coach. What unit do I have W-20 or W-22?
Also the service invoice I received from the shop states that they checked for the low voltage alarm and codes. They checked the cluster and connections replaced the cluster and all also checked all connections and terminal ends in all related wiring and replaced the PCM for J1850 code.
So with that information I'm just glad it is fixed.
Thanks again for your help and input.

Hi DriVer,
I was still trying to find out what chassis I have on my 2004 Adventurer 33' with an Allison 5 speed transmission.
I have tried to locate it on the Workhorse website but have not been able to confirm it. I also looked on my purchase agreement and it just gives the vehicle gross weight.
My gross vehicle weight is states it is 20700lb so I'm assuming it is a W20.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this issue.

DriVer,
Thanks again for all your help. It is sure nice to have this forum to seek out help and to read about other issues that may or may not effect our own rigs.
Keep up the good work.
