Info on "battery changeover switch"?

I'm running across an item called battery changeover switch. Anybody got ideas on what or where this is, how it works or what other names they may have used for it on Winnebago?
I might assume it is a manual switch to change from one coach battery to another but is that even a close guess?

Heres where Google is your friend. There are alot of battery change over switches. It seems they are mostly used in the Marine application. In a quick read seems like if you have two batteries you can select witch battery to use. In a long stretch it would almost be like the RV battery boost switch. I myself can not see in RV the use for one, but I am sure in this great world someone has used one in an RV.

Yes, I'm used to seeing it on boats but finding it on Rv drawings was what got my interest as I had not seen a reason for one but found them listed several times but not enough info from the drawings to know what purpose, so I thought there might be somebody who had one?
Winnebago has something of a habit of giving hints of info but leaving off the details!
