I don’t think that the inverter should be pulling an amps, nwhen not in use.

The LP detector is so minimal, as to be considered nothing more than a parasitic load.

What’s your issue?

The LP gas detector very little. It and the propane solenoid pulls as much as an amp. The inverter if off, zero, but if on in standby it pulls some depending on size and brand, maybe an amp.

If the inverter is powered on, there will be a parasitic draw even if it's not providing power to anything. If it is powered off, there is no parasitic draw.

[moderator edit] Inverters can draw up to 2+ amps by themselves and should be turned off when not in use, unless you don't care and have plenty of battery and charging capacity to spare. Anything that has electronic components will draw power. Plus, they are about 88-90% efficient, don't forget to add another 10-12% to your load calculations or check directly using a shunt-type battery monitoring system. Once you have a battery monitoring system, you will be able to find your "parasitic loads", which for me amounts to about .65 amps, not including the inverter. That's 2.1 amps.
