House battery/thermostat problems

The very proud owner of a 2012 Adventurer, I foolishly let my house batteries run down to below 9V. Therefore, I now have a problem with my thermostat. I called Coleman and we went through the reset and all LOOKED fine, until I got to the setting of the temps when I got an ER. The tech I was speaking to said he thought it might be a sensor problem. Any idea where they are and/or other suggestions as to problems? Thanx Gary

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I'm having a hard time connecting the fact that you let the batteries run low with the thermostat problem.

I assume you've recharged the batteries, or are at least connected to shore power when working on the thermostat? Are we talking about the thermostat that controls your heat/AC in the coach?

I found out the hard way that my t'stat had a low volts alarm, beeping at 2 AM. Convertor had tripped at C/B. But every thing went back to normal as soon as volts were up.
Was part of the re-set procedure a full power disconnect ?
If you only have one A/C zone then the temp sensor should be internal to the t'stat.

Ditto the full power disconnect even if you have to take the negative lead of the batteries off. Let it sit for a couple of minutes. Like rebooting a computer that has locked up.

I had a hard time with the low batteries myself. I guess that was stupid. Oh well, it happens!

To finish the rest, yes I recharged the batteries, and yes, the t'stat controls the heat/ac. Dual zone, gas/elec.heat,A/C.

The reset was "supervised" by a tech from Coleman. We ran through a, as he called it,soft reset and then a power off, full reset. The thermostat now works but won't program for temp set, and this is where the tech seems to think the sensors might be a problem.

I hope that you get a fix , rather than having to replace the t'stat.
JMHO. A t'stat probuced for an RV should be able to tolerate a low battery situation, many times over without this kind of problem.
